1. Introduction

These terms govern your use of our website and the heating and plumbing services we provide. By using our services or this website, you agree to these terms. If you have any questions, please contact us before proceeding.

2. Our Services

We provide heating, plumbing, and gas-related services across Teesside. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. Our Gas Safe registration number is 972035. We only undertake work that we're qualified and insured to perform.

3. Quotes and Pricing

Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Prices may vary if the scope of work changes or if we discover additional issues once work has started. We'll always discuss any price changes with you before proceeding. All prices include VAT at the current rate unless stated otherwise.

4. Booking and Cancellation

We ask for reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. For cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or in cases of no-shows, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee to cover our costs. We'll also give you as much notice as possible if we need to reschedule.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due on completion of work unless we've agreed other terms in writing. We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments. For larger jobs, we may agree a staged payment schedule, which will be set out in your quote.

6. Guarantees and Warranties

We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from completion. This doesn't cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, or wear and tear. Manufacturer warranties on parts and equipment are passed through to you, and we'll provide any relevant documentation. This guarantee doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Liability

We take reasonable care when carrying out work and hold appropriate insurance. We're not liable for pre-existing issues or faults that we haven't been asked to fix. Our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the work carried out, except where the law doesn't allow such limitation. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

8. Access and Property

You must provide safe access to the work area and clear the space of valuables or obstructions. Please inform us of any hazards (such as asbestos, pets, or structural issues) before we start work. We'll take reasonable care of your property, but we're not liable for minor marks or disruption that are a normal part of the work.

9. Gas Safety

As Gas Safe registered engineers, we have legal obligations around gas safety. If we discover any unsafe gas appliances or installations, we're required to report them in accordance with Gas Safe regulations. In some cases, we may need to disconnect unsafe appliances immediately. We'll always explain the situation and your options.

10. Complaints

If you're not happy with our work, please contact us directly at zak@hobdaysheating.com or 07555363978. We'll do our best to resolve the issue quickly and fairly. If we can't reach an agreement, you may be able to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution scheme or trading standards.
